Peter Cohn, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe

Peter is a partner in Orrick's Silicon Valley office and a member of the firm's Corporate and Technology Group. Peter represents emerging growth high technology companies, venture capital firms and investment banks in a broad range of legal projects. Major transactions include representation of the following clients: Snaptrack, Inc. in its $1B sale to Qualcomm; PDF Solutions, Inc. in its $68 million initial public offering; Galvantech, Inc. in its $150 million sale to Cypress Semiconductor; and Business Resource Group in its sale to Three Cities Fund III. Peter joined Orrick in May 1999 to help start Orrick's Silicon Valley Corporate and Technology Practice. He earned his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall in 1981 and received a B.S. highest honors, Business Administration (Finance and Accounting) from University of California, Berkeley in 1978.

Jim is a partner at Blakely, Sokoloff, Taylor & Zafman. He has been involved in patent, copyright and trademark prosecution and litigation at the firm since 1983. Jim was instrumental in the development of intellectual property for SnapTrack, Inc., which culminated in a $1 billion sale to Qualcomm in 2000. Jim is currently working closely with Apple, Inc. and is heavily involved in the intellectual property for the iPhone. Jim received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in June 1983. At UCLA Jim was the Editor of the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. Jim received an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon University, Graduate School of Industrial Administration in 1980. Jim earned his B.A. in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University in 1978.
